GENERAL PRODUCT CARE TIPS

DO

  • Always carefully lift furniture when moving it around the home and never drag.
  • Rotate cushions regularly to even out the wear and fading.
  • Use floor protectors on the bottom of furniture to minimise damage to floor coverings.
  • We love our pets but keeping off the furniture will avoid any little “accidents” or damage.
  • Where applicable, when assembling your furniture please follow the instructions! This will allow you to check that you have all the parts and show you the right way to put your furniture together.
  • Some items are heavy and may require additional people to help assemble.

DO NOT

  • Don’t place any indoor furniture in direct sunlight as this may cause fabric, leather and other materials to fade or crack. Direct sunlight includes sunlight through a window - use curtains or blinds to protect your furniture.
  • Don’t place furniture too close to a heater or air conditioning vent as this may distort the material or surface finish.
  • Don’t sit on the arms of the sofas and chairs. They're not designed for that.
  • Avoid standing on chairs and stools or rocking on the back of it, as this may weaken the structure and possibly cause joint failure.

 

CLOUDS

  • PROLONG LIFE BY PROTECTING WITH A FABRIC SCOTCHGARD.
  • We recommend professional dry cleaning only for our Cloud Slipcovers.
  • To spot clean use warm water or upholstery wipes (such as Britex). Please refrain from using any detergent and ensure you use distilled water to minimize the chances of water stains.
  • Regularly vacuum frames to remove any dust and debris that may accumulate over time.
  • Regularly Shake cushions to keep them in shape. It's perfectly fine to be a little aggressive with your cushions, but always be mindful of your nails and any jewellery you might be wearing.

 

LINEN FABRICS

  • PROLONG LIFE BY PROTECTING WITH A FABRIC SCOTCHGARD.
  • Protect by not placing furniture in direct sunlight and heat, this will ensure a longer last.
  • Vacuum regularly to remove as much surface dirt and dust as possible.
  • Clean up surface stains as soon as possible, being careful not to rub stain into fabric.
  • Most stains may be treated with dry-cleaning fluid or upholstery shampoo, upholstery wipes (such as Britex) are ideal for spot-cleaning.
  • Do not rub the fabric when cleaning.
  • Always work inwards from the edge of the stain with a clean absorbent cloth.
  • Use a dabbing motion with a clean section of the cloth for each dab.
  • Do not over wet fabric and allow it to dry naturally between repeated spot cleaning procedures.
  • DO NOT MACHINE WASH.
  • Do not use bleach or other harsh chemicals on fabric. 
  • Where covers are removable, dry cleaning may be necessary and recommended for best results.
  • We recommend professional cleaning for heavily soiled/stained fabrics.

 

VELVET

  • Protect by not placing furniture in direct sunlight and heat, this will ensure a longer last.
  • Vacuum regularly to remove as much surface dirt and dust as possible.
  • Clean up surface stains as soon as possible, being careful not to rub stain into fabric.
  • Do not use bleach or other harsh chemicals on fabric. 
  • Use a suede brush or soft bristle brush to gently brush fabric. 
  • We recommend professional cleaning for heavily soiled/stained fabrics.

 

CORDUROY FABRICS

  • PROLONG LIFE BY PROTECTING WITH A FABRIC SCOTCHGARD.
  • Protect by not placing furniture in direct sunlight and heat, this will ensure a longer last.
  • Vacuum regularly to remove as much surface dirt and dust as possible.
  • Clean up surface stains as soon as possible, being careful not to rub stain into fabric. Make sure to use a microfiber cloth for cleaning, as a standard cotton rag can leave lint behind.
  • We recommend using warm water or upholstery wipes (such as Britex) for spot-cleaning corduroy, excessive use of cleaning products can strip the fabric of it's natural oils and leave it feeling stiff, dry and brittle. If using upholstery wipes always test a small area to make sure it won't cause any stains or discolouration. 
  • Do not rub the fabric when cleaning.
  • Use a dabbing motion with a clean section of the cloth for each dab.
  • Do not over wet fabric and allow it to dry naturally between repeated spot cleaning procedures. Although corduroy is a sturdy fabric, excessive exposure to hot water can make it shrink. 
  • To soften fabric use a soft bristle toothbrush or upholstery brush and brush in the direction of the corduroy's nap (the direction of the channels in the material). 
  • DO NOT MACHINE WASH.
  • Do not use bleach or other harsh chemicals on fabric. 
  • For the tough stains or discolouration, dry cleaning may be necessary and recommended for best results. 
  • We recommend professional cleaning for heavily soiled/stained fabrics.

 

RATTAN/WICKER

  • Dust regularly with a dry soft cloth, a soft brush, or vacuuming the piece with the brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner. 
  • Use a soft bristled toothbrush for those hard to reach places. 
  • Periodically wipe down with a soft damp cloth.
  • To restore dry, cracked, or split rattan, apply boiled linseed oil with a soft cloth or soft bristled brush. When the furniture won't absorb any more oil, wipe it clean with a soft cloth. Allow it to dry or harden before using again.

We do not recommend leaving your rattan items undercover for an extended period of time outside, where possible, natural rattan furniture should be stored in dry conditions as it is organic material. Prolonged dampness can lead to mold and paint deterioration.

 

TIMBER

  • Dust regularly with a dry soft cloth. 
  • Periodically wipe down with a soft damp cloth followed by the application of a surface polish such as Mr Sheen. This will polish and protect the wood and glass and prolong life. 
  • To reduce the risk of scratching, refrain from dragging hard objects across your furniture, and always place something underneath when writing with pen and paper.
  • Hot cups can leave ring marks on timber, so please always use heat-resistant coasters.

 

LIGHTING

  • Dust regularly with a dry soft cloth.
  • Use a soft bristle brush in the shade to remove surface dirt and dust. 
  • Do not use it in the bathroom or damp places.
  • Place the lamp on a flat surface and ensure there are no flammable materials around it.
  • The product is for indoor use only.
  • The external flexible cable/cord of the lamp cannot be replaced, if the cord is damaged the lamp shall be destroyed.

 

CUSHION COVERS

  • DO NOT TUMBLE DRY.
  • Cold hand wash.
  • Lay flat to dry.

    Shipping Policy

    We ship Australia wide and have 48 hour dispatch policy, unless otherwise stated. If goods are unavailable, we will contact you.

    To calculate shipping please add items to your cart and use our shipping calculator in our cart. Please enter your state, suburb and postcode to get the most accurate rates. 

    48 hour dispatch refers to 2 business days. For example: an order placed on Monday could be picked packed and dispatched by Wednesday. Keeping in mind it could be picked and dispatched sooner depending on our order volume. All orders from blackmango.com.au, once dispatched, will receive a confirmation email with a link to view current order status and delivery details.

    Dependent on location delivery will be between 4-7 business days. We are unable to deliver to a P.O. Box Address or Parcel Lockers and we do not ship outside of Australia yet.

    Delivery costs are calculated on the size and weight of each item according to Australia Post or Courier costs, delivery fees can be calculated on cart page. We can only provide an approximate delivery date and tracking details so you can monitor the progress of your delivery.

    Please remember that it is your responsibility to check that your items will fit through doors, staircases and lifts in their packaging before you place your order.

    Returns & Refunds Policy

    We have a 30 day no questions asked returns policy. You can return your item to us in its original packaging within 30 days of when it was delivered to you for a refund. We will refund the cost of the item(s), but you will need to pay for the cost of return shipping. Simply fill out our Return Request Form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

    In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please do not hesitate to contact our team via team@blackmango.com.au or by filling out the Return Request Form.

    Please provide the following information:

    1. your invoice (including order number) and any other proof of purchase; and
    2. detailed description of item and problem;
    3. photographic evidence of the defect or damage, where applicable;
    4. any other details we may need to proceed further.


    A Black Mango online sales team member will respond as soon as possible. 

    Once your order is received back to our warehouse, a qualified team member will verify the condition of your returned item and once approved your account will be credited within five to ten working days, depending on your payment method. This refund policy does not apply to goods which have been used, damaged after delivery, if any attempt has been made to alter the product or if they have been dropped or broken. All products must be returned in their original condition.

    Excellent

    Got our 3 seater cloud today. Love it.. . It is really comfy and beautiful but a bit harder to put together than I thought. I got it unboxed and inside, and did all the cushions on my own but I had to get help clipping the two bases together. Would still recommend but maybe have help if you are getting a 3 seater.

    Green cord couch 3 seater

    Little harder then we expected so don’t enjoy sitting g on it as much as we enjoy lying down on it but we expect it to soften. We love the look and happy we invested in this piece. ❤️

    Not comfortable

    I love the way this sofa looks but it's not very comfortable unless you sit really far back on it. The cushions hang about 5cms over the edge of the base and the cushions flatten at the front. If I sit on the front of the sofa the feathers and foam go totally flat and I can literally feel the hard base through the flattened cushions. It's so bad I've made enquiries into getting new cushions made. The back cushions are really comfortable, it's the ones you sit on that are the problem. One positive is the material the sofa covers are made from are great. If you get a mark on them you can get it out with a wet cloth. But not particularly comfortable. It also has a tendency to roll forward. Where the back of the cushions are so much higher than the front which flatten out so if you lie on it you've got a balancing problem where you're being rolled towards the front. I'm disappointed in this purchase

    Thank you for popping back in here to leave a review, it is always great to hear how people are going with their items after so long.

    May we please assist with some little and easy upkeep suggestions -

    As with any soft furniture that is feather filled (like our clouds), they do require a bit of regular fluffing to keep them at their best. Over time, they can settle and compress, so giving them a quick fluff-up every now and then helps redistribute the feathers and restore their softness. It’s a small maintenance step that can make a big difference in comfort, and we add feathers for this very reason, as their 're-plumping' qualities will continue to re-plump forever and not lose shape if kept well.

    Not dissimilar to feather pillows, if you have ever had full filled feather bed pillows, these require plumping every night (totally worth it) although we promise if kept well, our Clouds definitely do not need plumping that often.

    As for the front cushions feeling a bit firm, we can imagine how that might be uncomfortable if you're sitting near the edge and again, since you've had the sofa for a year now, this could be a natural part of the feather and foam settling process.

    We can guarantee that if you take those seat cushions off of the sofa frame, turn them upside down and give them a big bang, shake, rattle and roll, they will be feeling and looking as glorious as your back cushions.

    Amazing quality. I have a similar one that I bought from UK that cost nearly $10k and the comfort of this one is as good. You literally sink in to it!
